Googlemail goes down and the world is in a frenzy?

Add CommentIt's interesting how much effect one email service has on the lives of many. Googlemail went down on Tuesday 1st September for some reason that has not been revealed yet, and the lives of many people were abruptly interrupted. According to Google, they are working frantically to solve the problem within the shortest possible time.
It's times like these that make one stop and wonder. Are we becoming heavily reliant on one channel of communication? It would make sense though to have a failsafe incase of times like these. However, I guess you would imagine that the likelihood of a service like Googlemail ever going down is near enough to zero. Afterall this is Google we're talking about.
Well, I hope they sort something out soon because I use Gmail myself and would love to have access to my mail.
