I always ask myself the same question, over and over again but I don't seem to get any closer to an answer.

Why have people become so self-absorbed, selfish and unhelpful. Many years ago people in a community would help each other out in any way possible. These days people even pretend they cannot see when someone is in need. It is really sad to watch what the community has become. People look away, don't ask if they can help out or even make life much harder for another person.

Many years ago people would be courteous to each other, say hello and smile on the street (even if they didn't know each other), people would help carrying items or guide someone over the road. These days people look all grim and they don't trust each other anymore. Which really is a shame.

I wish we could have a discussion as to why community has developed in this way and how we could improve our behaviour towards each other.
